Deepak Aaron, two-time New York State Scholastic Champion, participated in a thirty board Simultaneous Chess Exhibition at the Crossroads of his Niskayuna HS, winning all thirty boards under the watchful eye of many onlookers, especially the organizer, Victor Alcantara, whose vision made it possible.  Ashok Aaron received gifts of canned goods to help the City Mission of Schenectady.  Brother John McManus, Senior Level Tournament Director from the United States Chess Federation (USCF) and Scholastic Coordinator for the Greater Capital District of the Eastern New York Chess Association (ENYCA), announced the tally as the match progressed.  Bill Townsend (Gazette) arrived in time to savor the final coup de grace!

Congratulations to Deepak for continuing to do his best and being an inspiration to so many.  His drive and zeal appear hidden under his humble demeanor, but a lion roars inside him once his magical moves on the chessboard proclaim his triumphs.  We all can share a deep  pride in what he has already accomplished.  So many sacrifices to get to the top, and yet so far still awaits his journey along the way. Thanks to the many participants for being part of his journey:  (See below for Michael Zhou's game)
